Day Fifteen: Starting Good Habit

Another morning wasted after taking my sister up to her school, i went back to sleep again. It was hard to keep morning wake up as a habit in my life. The most thing to keep me not sleeping again is yoga class that start on 8 am, other than that i have no strong reason to not sleep. My dad ever gave me solution about planning your schedule for tomorrow so once you wake up you have an important thing to finish first before get to work or even thinking about having another hour in the bed. You know it was painful to wake up especially if you always sleep late, i have regular sleeping time, almost everyday i went to bed at 1 am and this is the main reason of why i felt lack of sleep in the morning. Even i know the culprit of my sleep time, i still can't manage to sleep early. I had tried many times to sleep at 9 pm and always fail, my body doesn't correspond that hour and instead i fall asleep, my mind rushed to the most productive thinking i ever felt during the day. It such a strange to know your body personality, by being tardy in the morning and unproductive during office hour while the time people are suppose to sleep my brain is in peak performance.

Maybe i am not try enough to resist the urge to sleep, well i am. Unless yoga class in the 8 am, which start every Monday of the week (luckily there was another morning yoga class in Tuesday morning) i will not moving from my bed. There is a small gap between the time i took my sister to her school at 6.30 am to 8 am so i would prefer to stay awake and do some stuff or planning or doing my monthly expenses which require less than hour and go straight to the gym. Today i need a game changer for my morning wake up, so i could keep this thing up for a month for a better myself so here is my game plan.

Monday and Tuesday

8 am yoga class, after dropping my sister up i would like to eat or buy any kind of food to fuel my stomach, then went to the cold bath before yoga class. In between, i try to read any kind of article that can keep me awake.

Wednesday and Thursday

No yoga class in the morning can be a reason to surrender to sleep. My idea is going to the nearest park and do some activities, either jogging or some simple cardio. After that i can take any morning deal booth. Spend some time there to think about my plan would be a good idea than sleep. In rain season, i had no option but sleep, so i will think the plan B later.

Friday

Maybe same as the previous day plan since morning yoga class start late in Friday (10:20 am).

Saturday

I don't need to start a habit in this day since i would doing yoga from the morning until evening. By the way at night i spent my day with my friend or family to embrace the day.

Sunday

Similar day same with Saturday with the differences in morning routine as i mostly went to church and the later will doing some social activities with friend or family.

I promise to myself to start this habit as soon as possible, as i want to change to be a better person. As i watched a good information of video from Youtube channel, which motivating my plan through, i will use their method for this month.

I registered their website and accessing their tips on how you can keep a good habit. The first plan they show you a graph about a person who want to be something specific that he read and study the information related to what he want to be, unfortunately this is not just enough, his motivation dropped down as time went through and at the end of the story, this guy become nothing like before because he missed one important point, he is not doing what he learn. Our wonderful brain works perfect in it's way and we need to know how to make it works. The habit is not just happen over night, or over week. It need a constant work of effort and time to do a specific training until it habitually became our habit. Once it registered as our hobby, we will felt guilt if we made a change of it and that it our real goal. To make the habit feel like a regular activity.

He later show the graph of a second person who start studying and learning with his new hobby. After he learn about it, he implement it in his real life, no matter how new it sounds or how weird he feel on his first day. By learning from what his doing, he know what kind of skill does he need to know to improve his hobby, and at this time, he is improving to better position than someone who just keep study in the same hobby. In the end of the month, the second person has a better outcome.

Therefore, the first foundation to start a good habit is by practice of what we learn, constantly, until we shift our mindset from "what we have to do" into "i do this everyday". The difference between habit and discipline is the willingness to do it. Discipline requires constant willingness to keep a person doing it while habit is not forced, it just doing by a person because "he want to".

I want to continue the complete guide about good habit but unfortunately i have yoga class at 6 and another meeting so i might not writing for today. However if i have enough time at night i will finish this. See you.
