Today is a national holiday for Hinduism in my country that they celebrate i don't know the name sorry so we have one day off so today i decided visit one of my dad's business, as gas filling supplier in different county. The reason just because i need a short break from my routine and i still not figure out what i want to do. Perhaps with him and his friend i could get a new ideas that could be a new perspective in my life. So i woke up at 6 and prepare everything, we went from home to another county, which mostly took 3 hours in rush hour, this time it only takes one hour.
We were waiting his friend and my dad gives a small talk about tolerance, it is hard to change someone habit once it becomes a habit, his friend was half hour late and this is normal for him to wait, we just need to find a solution with possible outcome such as make an appointment for him for half hour earlier so he will come on time but this will not work properly if he one or two hours late! or another easy solution, that we just wait patiently while doing something in order to kill the time.
Later he arrived and we are ready to go to Boreci county, famous for its seafood production especially tiny prawn and mussel and prawn paste. Since i slept late yesterday, in this journey i totally sleepy and got slept until we arrived to his place. I woke up by dad's friend wife, told me to get out of car since they need to turn off and going to take about an hour here. Then i look around, the place is not that huge, about 500 meters with one giant tank for oxygen filling, in this tank the water will be condensed into gas and i can see the pipes covered by snow, i walk to the filling station, there is two pipes which divided into smaller pipes with valves. I asked on of the staff and it took one minutes to fill the bottle but it would be dangerous for the pressure so normally they will fill twenty bottles together with twenty minutes span to complete.
The manager told me that this business is good because of this reason, First, you can find any place need gas, from small restaurant, hospital, stone cutter, any kind of business that need gas. Second, there is no "grade" or "fake" product in this business, all were calculated from the volume before and after filling, the amount of energy being used, the quality of the bottles and Third, due to the high start up cost and many uncertainty going through this business for the first time, many of the investor has drawback with this business, causing less competitor and Fourth, has fixed customer so as long as the price is competitive, there is a small chance of customers retention.
The reason my dad were called here is because there is new competitor with better capitals, did a price war in our region. The price was unacceptable for us and other similar businessman since in order to gain new customer, this competitor set his price to no profit margin price. The reason they are doing this is to knock and shut down the former supplier business, especially if he only has small capital or be a second hand supplier. The effect is serious since our company cut its production into two third, and many of big customer has flew to the new competitor, while we don't know for how long it will last. So in order to combat his strategy, we will use another strategy that is called guerrilla strategy, a combination of strategic positioning with pick up service without limitation.
We went to three different places, to find the best place that is near with our potential customer with affordable price. I was looking around that i found every place here was doing a stone cutting home industry. My dad even asked if you want to try the business, selling the stone made product to the capital since this is mostly used for construction material. The stone comes in different size with its function, have different color grey, black, yellow, pinkish and light blue and yes all of is natural stone, were cut with round saw machine, different size to from small as hand to the giant as my body. I told my dad to do the research about this and see how it gets.
Later on we just go back, most of us had something to do tomorrow, and the return takes another two hours and most of the guy inside the car fall asleep, i also don't talk much with the driver since i enjoyed the serenity of dark scenery outside, it is relatively same but i really enjoyed that moment, imagining something that fascinate my mind.
